| Redrum will be leaning on the offensive ability of Paul Sutera (above) to spark the offense in 2002. |
Offseason Review: Redrum started off the 2001 season with high hopes of continuing their winning ways but shortly after the start of the season, the team had a lot of problems with fielding a full roster on each game night. The result was a dismal 3-5 record in the Spring I 2001 League. Due to scheduling conflicts & a lack of available players, Redrum was unable to field a team for the remainder of the 2001 season. As a result, many of Redrum's players resorted to playing on other teams in 2001.
The core of the team is still solid with veterans Rob Caine, Roger Gautt, Kawika Iida, Matthew Jackson, Paul Sutera & Don Thomas returning for the 2002 campaign. With this base, Redrum should be able to return to the winning column in no time. Chris Brown returns for his sophomore season with the squad. Brown's offensive punch & solid glove in the outfield should be a welcome addition to team.
The team welcomes newcomers Harry Azlin, Len Messina, Ronnie Mize & Brian Uhlmer. Hopefully they will be able to add some stability to the team. All four players will need to be decisive forces in improving on the 2001 season.
Preview:Despite a disappointing 2001 season, Redrum looks poised to have another successful campaign in the 2002 season.
