Baseball Vs. Golf Lower Body Action
SwingAway - Get Good Gazette, Volume 1 Issue 11

Number 1: The ball is moving in baseball and not in golf (usually) therefore a baseball hitter cannot go beyond the ready position on frame 1. Golfers can take the club parallel, therefore creating a bigger torque angle and more power.

Number 2: Both swings stress the placement of hands “inside” the ball. This means the player MUST drive the grip or knob to and through the ball, not “casting” or throwing the hands outside the ball. When this is properly executed, the swing will be more compact and powerful.

Number 3: Upon contact both players must “square” the bat or club to the ball on contact, hit, and follow through.

Number 4: The lower half of the body is MOST important in a successful swing in both sports. Shift of weight must occur in both swings from back side to front, in order to maximize club head/bat speed. The lower half provides the POWER to propel the ball!
