An Amazing Feet SwingAway - Get Good Gazette, Volume 1 Issue 13
TIP: To gain the proper weight shift and “feel” how it leads into the proper swing mechanics. Enter the batter’s box and assume the athletic position/hitting stance. Wiggle your toes, pressing them downward and then gradually rocking your weight from side to side. (Do not roll your weight over to the outer side of your feet.) Rock back and forth, lengthening the side-to-side motion. Keep balance under control. This is proper weight shift. Practice this weight shift…a bit back and then forward. A good hitter shifts his weight a bit back in order to go forward: “Rhythmic Balance”. Using this, take 20-25 swings per day to keep rhythm and weight shift.
