Forming Your Glove SwingAway - Get Good Gazette, Volume 1 Issue 16
TIP: When forming your glove, keep the fingers flat. It is very common for young players to "curl" the fingers of their fielding glove. Many think it looks cool or flashy. The problem is, it lessens the effectiveness of the glove and then leads to fielding errors! When formed in this manner and the glove is placed in position to field a ground ball, the curved fingers actually get in the way, not allowing the ball to roll into the pocket of the glove. When forming your glove, keep the fingers flat. This will allow the ball free access to the pocket of the glove.
