Some Things We Learned About Life From Baseball

  1. Baseball is not fair and neither is LIFE!
  2. Ball beats runner, runner out!
  3. ALWAYS be ready for the curve.
  4. When in doubt, S-L-I-D-E!
  5. Some have larger strike zones than others.
  6. Don’t drop the ball!
  7. It’s all a game of averages.
  8. Everyone was a rookie once.
  9. If you have an itch, scratch it… even if a lot of people are watching.
  10. Baseball is a game of inches and so is LIFE!
  11. The dumbest errors always happen in front of a huge crowd.
  12. Do not let being shortstop you from doing big things.
  13. Swing as hard as you can, you might hit it!
  14. We all need a little coaching now and then.
  15. It is important to have a home base.
  16. You never know what you will catch when playing the field.
  17. It’s a great thing to be a relievable pinch hitter or reliever.
  18. Don’t get thrown out stealing.
  19. Don’t let the fear of striking out stop you!
  20. Keep your head in the game.
  21. Ninety percent of life is just showing up.
  22. Work the corners.
  23. Get a good pitch to hit!
  24. Keep your eyes on the ball.
  25. Perfect practice makes perfect.
  26. Mix your speeds to avoid mediocrity.
  27. Hitting is adjustments and readjustments.
  28. Location, location, location…
  29. You must make decisions on the fly!
  30. Those who can, do; those who can’t coach!
  31. and “when you’re out, you’re out!”
